THE CONCEPT:
The Business of Art is a [30mins. x 13 episodes] broadcast series that takes our audience behind prestigious Museum exhibits and high profile Gallery shows and into the less glamorous and sometimes frenetic world of the artists’ studio.

Every episode will feature an individual artist, their creative team, their business advisers, and will be filmed at the artist’s private workspace or studio.
Each episode will focus on the creation and marketing of a new work by the featured artist.
From the germination of the idea to the point of presentation or sale this entire creative and business process will be documented.

In our pilot episode we feature the collaboration of master printer Gary Lichtenstein and world renowned artist Robert Indiana in the creation, production and marketing of a new line of Indiana lithographs.
Pilot Episode Cont:
We follow Lichtenstein to Indiana’s studio in up state New York and experience the initial planning between artist and artesian.
We then head back to “The White Barn” Gary’s legendary print studio to watch and learn the process of transforming Indiana’s original work to a series of museum quality limited edition lithographs.
We watch as Lichtenstein presents samples his work to Indiana in an effort to obtain approval to move to final print.
Upon Indiana’s approval we return to “The White Barn” and watch as Gary prints the first set of “artist’s proof” lithographs.
The episode concludes with a prestigious Museum show presenting the new line of “Indiana” prints to both the art community and general public.
